Cairngorm view

Cairngorm view, originally uploaded by ccgd.

Looking at the Cairngorm Massif from the North, Carn Elrig - this peak - is a fairly small and inconsequential mountain at the southern entrance to the Lairig Ghru. In fact its one of the very few peaks in the Cairngorms I have never been up (not that I go out on the hills much these days.....)

Magnus was racing at Badeguish in September, and I took this zoom shot in the late afternoon. The angle highlights the almost perfect symmetry of the hill, although the light was poor. Looking at the photo later I cropped it tightly, and saturated it very heavily to bring out the blues and greens.

Worked well.
