Grey lighthouse

Grey lighthouse, originally uploaded by ccgd.

I was out for a stroll along the beach on Sunday Morning, with a flat grey light. That's why this is in B&W.

And I like the angle - I'm usually more of a centred or clear rule of threes kind of guy.

A distant Dounreay

A distant Dounreay, originally uploaded by ccgd.

The three Dounreay reactors can be seen, with Vulcan in the distance.

Which makes four I suppose - the last remnants of Cattiness's Nuclear experiments.

From Forss hill.

The Cathederal

The Cathederal, originally uploaded by ccgd.

Helsinki's Lutherian Cathederal. Built as a Russian Orthodox Church, its now a protestant Kirk.

They still have candles inside though.

Ruth and I are having a rather fun weekend in Finlands capital. Back to the UK Tomorrow, and our car is in Heathrow, so a long drive north......

Fritwell church

Fritwell church, originally uploaded by ccgd.

We have been down south, visiting Charlie and Sarah at their new house in Oxford-shire, and staying in a wee holiday cottage in the village of Fritwell.

A classic shot of a classic Oxford-shire church.

Looking down the firth

Looking down the firth, originally uploaded by ccgd.

Last Saturday was wild - the Cromarty Boat Club was due for their autumn Boat lift, but when I wondered down to take some snaps there was no crane, and lots of worried looking boat owners........

Force 8 or thereabouts, five semi-subs, and a Galaxy Jack up. The Firth does look busy these days.

Sunday was nice though - and all the boats seemed to craned out to everyone's satisfaction.

Our Hamish on the phone - Glasgow Summer 2009.

He heard last week that that he has been selected for the Ernst and Young Graduate programme for 2010.

Neat.

Fishertown glimpses

Fishertown glimpses, originally uploaded by ccgd.

My first attempt at a printed photographic poster, as an entry for the "Creative Cromarty" exhibition, whose theme this year was the Fishertown.

It’s OK for the a first attempt, but I'm not comfortable with the balance - to much space top and bottom.

A few people have asked after it as a commercial product, so I'll revisit the design over the next wee while.
