An Edinburgh Winter

An Edinburgh Winter, originally uploaded by ccgd.

From the Third floor of the Caley Hotel, just as dusk is settling down over the city.

In Edinburgh for the Scottish Green Energy Awards, where I was presenting a lifetime achievement thingy to the redoubtable Jeremy Cresswell of the P&J. The trains were all being cancelled left and right, so we decided (not without some serious discussion) to drive down the A9. We used a colleague's car fitted with snow tyres, pack snow shovels in the back and set off.

The quietest, quickest and most picturesque run the to Edinburgh I've had in 20 years. Empty, black roads, and no falling snow until we hit the capital.

Just goes to show.

A hauntingly beautiful shot. Well done!
