My GGG Grandfather, in a photo taken later in his life. He had served with the Sutherland Highlanders (93rd Regiment) in the Crimea in the 1850's (including the famous "Thin Red Line" battle), and then in the Indian Mutiny, hence all the medals. This is a scan of a print of a scan, but has a nice sepia feel.

These medals can be seen in the Regimental Museum of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Stirling Castle, Scotland.

I spend a lot of time in Perth station, changing and waiting for trains. But I'd never noticed this sign at the top of Platform 1 until last week.

Reminds me of the sort of thing I used to have on my Hornby train set when I was very very small.
